Fifth Third Overlimit Coverage

Overlimit Coverage is an optional service that may allow you to exceed your credit line.

Benefits of Overlimit Coverage

Overlimit Coverage may help you avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of having a purchase declined.

Examples of how Overlimit Coverage may be used to cover credit card transactions:

Your available credit line is $100. You attempt to buy $150 worth of groceries using your credit card.

  • With Overlimit Coverage – your purchase may be allowed, resulting in an overlimit situation and you may receive an overlimit fee if no payments are made to bring your account under your credit limit before the end of your Billing Cycle.
  • Without Overlimit Coverage – your purchase may be declined.

Your available credit line is $3,000. You attempt to make a balance transfer for $3,100 plus a 4% balance transfer fee using your credit card.

  • With Overlimit Coverage – your balance transfer may be allowed, resulting in an overlimit situation and you may receive an overlimit fee if no payments are made to bring your account under your credit limit before the end of your Billing Cycle.
  • Without Overlimit Coverage – your balance transfer may be declined.

How much does Overlimit Coverage cost if I use the service?

An overlimit occurrence is defined as your account balance minus fees and finance charges being $25 or more over your credit line at Cycle end. The fee is $25 per occurrence.

Also, we think everyone should have some protection from an occasional shortfall. That's why you will only be assessed an overlimit fee when your account is $25 or more over the credit limit.
